F&Q
1. What installation issues should I be aware of?
First, the transfer switch installation must be carried out by a qualified or licensed professional, who must issue a Certificate of Conformity (COC) afterward, so the insurance company does not reject any claims related to electrical failures in the future. Second, to prevent the unit from shutting down or tripping, discuss with your electrician which circuits or appliances should be excluded based on your electrical consumption and the capacity of your power station, such as stove, water heater (geyser), and pool pump. Lastly, keep in mind that the transfer switch should be placed inside a box to avoid electric shocks. This is only feasible with automatic circuit breaker panels installed indoors.
2. How much does it cost to install a transfer switch?
Generally, installation costs include labor, travel, wiring, protective box, and COC. This varies based on many factors like travel distance and cable length. The exact installation cost will be estimated by an electrician based on your home's electrical circuit specifications. We strongly recommend contacting several electricians and requesting comparative quotes.
3. Can I install the transfer switch myself?
Installation of the transfer switch must be done by a certified electrician.
4. Will overloading the EcoFlow portable power stations with home loads cause damage?
EcoFlow portable power stations have built-in safety mechanisms to prevent overloading. However, it is also essential to exclude high-consumption appliances or circuits.
5. How long does the transfer switch take to connect a load from the utility to backup power during a power outage?
The transfer time is approximately 0.2 seconds. Although this time may seem long, it actually provides two important benefits. First, it helps prevent voltage surges that could damage home appliances during sudden power fluctuations, which is crucial for protecting your equipment. Second, this transfer time is vital for the longevity and safe operation of our products.
6. Can I plug this cable into any three ports on the PCS when using it with the ATS?
Yes, any three ports may be usable.
7. Should the ATS be installed with an external enclosure?
The ATS does not come with an external enclosure from the factory. However, we provide guidance to help users select and purchase a suitable enclosure themselves.
Recommended enclosure sizes (minimum):
• 300×200×170 mm (minimum)
• 400×300×170 mm
• 500×400×200 mm
• 600×400×220 mm
Recommended material:
High-quality new PC (polycarbonate) material with good toughness, high strength, and strong impact resistance. The enclosure should be waterproof, dustproof, and corrosion-resistant. As shown in the picture below.
8. The operating frequency is 50Hz. Can this ATS be used in a 60Hz power grid region?
Yes, it is compatible with both 50Hz and 60Hz.
9. The switching lifespan is 1500 times. What happens when this limit is reached?
After 1500 switches, there is a risk of the device failing to switch properly.
10. If overvoltage occurs and causes burning, are all the materials of the product flameretardant?
The enclosure is made of V0-grade flame-retardant material.
